Michaela school

This is one of the UK’s new ‘free schools’ and will have 840 learners at full capacity. It’s housed in what was a disused offices building in Wembley, London and despite the origins of the building, the school complies with best practice for low energy design, build and operation.

We were appointed just four months prior to opening phase one, with a brief to design and deliver the full FFE package for science labs, ICT classrooms, a library, a music and arts department and a sixth form centre.

True to form we delivered precisely on-time and on-budget.

More about the project

Despite an FFE budget that matched the timescales in its tightness, parents, pupils and staff are delighted with their new school.

Like many new schools, Michaela is very important to the community it serves, not least because its building, which used to be an eyesore, is now a fresh and positive addition to the local scene.

“Being brought onto a project so late in the programme was extremely demanding in particular ensuring ICT, FFE and M&E were coordinated and integrated with the building.“

“MCS was a particularly challenging environment and site comprising a 6 storey multi-phase installation, without a lift and limited vehicle access.“
