Gateacre school

This new 1527-student school in Liverpool wanted creative, fun spaces.

Working closely with the school’s Head Teacher and Business Manager, we created the internationally award winning scheme in BIM and as a bi-product of this workflow we visualised classrooms, the central atrium, learning resource centre and informal dining area.

More about the project

The design scheme comprising - land, river and sea - channels the outside world into the central space, giving students unexpected features such as a live fig tree and astro-turfed banquette seating. The rich blue of the dining space is redolent of an ocean wave.

The FFE budget was challenging, but we made it stretch further by specifying and sourcing, the seating and furniture. The school acquired this direct from manufacturer which saved tens of thousands allowing them to have a better quality, longer lasting equipment than would otherwise have been the case.
